I was the one.......

I was the one who through the stones as you walked.
I was the one who spat on you.
I was one of the soldiers who cast lots for your clothes.
I was the one who called you a fool.
I was the disciple who denied you three times.
I was the one who put up the sign that said, JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.
I was the one who said, "crucify him".
I was the soldier who wiped you time and time again.
I was the disciple who betrayed you with a kiss.
I was the one who put the crown of thorns on your head.
I was the one who mocked you to your face.
I was the one who laughed at you when you said you were the king.
I was the soldier who drove the nails in to your hands.
I was the one who said, "Save yourself! Come down from the cross, if you are the Son of God!"


But....................

I was the one wept for you.
I was the one who followed you to the end.
I was the one who they pulled from the crowd to help.
I was the soldier who said, "Surely this is the Son of God".
I was the thief beside you that came with you to paradise.
I was the disciple whom you loved.
And I was the one who saw you alive after three days.




Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
